Cashew nuts are actually kidney-shaped seeds that adhere to the bottom of the cashew apple, the fruit of the cashew tree, which is native to the coastal areas of northeastern Brazil.

Cashew is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains healthy fats and fiber as well. It can decrease blood cholesterol levels, benefit the heart's function, and improve the immune system. It is good for skin, hair, and bones. Cashews can be used as a snack alone, or in a mixture with other nuts and dried fruits.
